Peg and surfboard cuff links

Surfboard cuff links
Macassar ebony and East Indian rosewood
The original idea for these cuff links came from a Shaker style bench.  The bottom rail of the bench was held together with two driven wooden pins.  The cuff links work basically the same way - one pin is fixed and the other is removeable.  The removeable pin, which is split half way up to allow it to snap into place, comes out allowing the "surfboard" to pass through the button hole.  The pin is then re-placed and snaps positively in place to insure that it stays in place until you wish to remove it. The surfboard is macassar ebony; the pins are East Indian rosewood.
